Terms
Terms of sale
These terms apply when you buy from The Canon at thecanon.store. Please read them with Delivery and returns and our privacy notice.
Who we are
The Canon is run by Dominic van Almsick, trading as The Canon, TO FILL: a UK geographic address for the footer and terms. Email hello@thecanon.store.
What we sell
Open-edition giclée prints of the plates of The Canon, unframed or framed, printed to order by our lab, theprintspace. Each product page gives the print size, paper, frame and glazing. Colours on screen can differ slightly from the print, and the paper’s texture is part of it.
Prices and payment
Prices include delivery. Buyers in the United Kingdom pay in pounds sterling; buyers in the United States pay in US dollars. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order.
Your order
Your order is a contract once your payment succeeds and Stripe sends your receipt. We place it with the lab about an hour later, so email us straight away if an address needs changing. If we can’t fulfil an order, we’ll tell you and refund it in full.
Delivery, cancelling and returns
Delivery times, your 14-day right to cancel, and how returns work are set out on Delivery and returns. The print belongs to you, and is your responsibility, once it is delivered.
If something is wrong
If you’re in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights if a print is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, and nothing in these terms limits them. In any country, tell us and we’ll put it right with a replacement or a refund.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We don’t exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so. The prints are for your personal use; the designs remain our copyright.
Complaints and law
Email hello@thecanon.store and we’ll reply within five working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring a claim in your own courts.
